I just used this site...
http://www.freeuaslicense.com
to get my FAA (commercial) Remote Pilot's License rating on my 14 CFR 61.56 Pilot's license...and it was for FREE!!!
There were three other sites...
www.freesuaslicense.com
www.freeuavlicense.com
www.freedronelicense.com
but they all redirected to http://www.freeuaslicense.com
And it was really FREE!!! (no kidding).

Check it out! I got to be in two shows with BBC presenter James May (of "Top Gear" fame).

James+May+On+The+Moon+part+1-2

James+May+At+The+Edge+Of+Space+part+2-2

The two programs aired in the UK on 21 Jun 09, and still waiting for it to show in the USA. This is just a shortened segment of the program "James May on the Moon", which commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Apollo-11 Moon landing. The second program was to help expand the show segment on the U-2 high flight James & I took, titled "James May at the edge of Space."

Thanks to Paul King (Producer) and the USAF for allowing the BBC to make the program.

...Okay... Now I have to get back to work on my Kitplane!

Kit #9 is MINE!!!

This posting is for Stu (Clyde).

Holy Cow! It's been over a year since I've posted last. Wow! How times flies when work get in the way. Life marches on.

The big news is Kit #9 is now MINE! After about 2 years of searching for this particular kit, I was successful in acquiring it from the clutches of the Scrap-Heap! Yep! Kit #9 was destined to be scrapped by Reedley College where the kit had been donated to by Doc Anders (previous owner). Unfortunately, it is missing many parts and was poorly stored. But, I rescued it and I can combine it with the partial kit (#17) that I have and now have an almost complete kit.

Here are some pics... (story to be continued)

Had to share this video with everyone! Sorry! No new updates yet as work continues to "get in the way" of all the fun stuff...(except the flying part)

Got very few pictures from Airventure 2007, except these homeward bound pictures.

Wow! Just returned from Airventure-2007 (Oshkosh, WI.)... didn't have enough time to see it all, as usual. This time I had to work more than last year.

Watch this video clip from my trip to Airventure 2007 at Oshkosh, WI.

Got to meet with Todd from the New Prowler Aviation, and Brian, who is currently building one of the original production Jaguar kits that George Morse had manufactured as the Old Prowler Aviation.

When I got back home, I received an email from my French friend Nic, and he sent me this picture of the original Prowler Prototype, N611AA, serial #01, which is obviously in some sort of engine rebuild(?) perhaps?

Plasma:
The CNC plasma cutter project is just about ready to fire and test for the first time - I just need some time to do it! Hopefully, but this weekend, I should have it test run for the first time.

Ahhh - PLASMA! Not the stuff in your bloodstream, I'm talking about electrically charged particles!!! Here are my first practice parts (wing radiator enclosures) cut using my new little Chinese CT-416 Plasma Cutter (and TIG/Stick Welder). This method of cutting parts is a whole lot easier, quicker and much more "fun" than using tin snips or even a jig-saw or Roto-Zip! Parts come out really cleanly cut, but, the downside is you can more easily and more quickly destroy parts too! Cutting using "free-hand" is simple, but NOT necessarily easy...! Even when using a wood pattern you can goober up a nice piece of aluminum in short order.

Cutting ribs, bulkheads etc... by hand is not too critical, but cutting wing spars by free-hand is not necessarily a good idea. My next step is to buy a CNC cutting table to accurately cut any and all the parts - especially the wing spars - perfectly and repeatedly every time! This is what I'll use to cut all those wing spar parts.

Anyone need me to cut them a bunch of CNC aluminum parts for their project?
